課程概述

This course addresses the most fundamental tasks of a manager in different
levels of the hierarchy in an organization. Managers get things done through
organizational members whose objectives may be different from those of the
organization. A manager needs to be familiar with the management processes
through which organizational objectives are accomplished in an efficient and
effective manner, especially in an ever changing environment.Generally
speaking, managers’tasks include planning, organizing,leading and
controlling. We will introduce the theories and practices of management
processes sequentially.
 

課程目標
This is an introductory course and will mostly rely on lectures, group
discussions, and case studies through which students learn management in an
interactive and participative context. We will emphasize experiential
learning. You will learn management experience through group work. Then, you
will realize that a good manager needs to have human sensitivity, abilities to
build consensus, resolve conflicts, lead the group and conduct effective
communications in order to get task done with a diverse group of people. As
you will master the principles of management only through experience, these
group exercises provide an excellent opportunity to practice whatever you
learn in this course.
